They are simply suggested locations for you to consider when removing items from your home.

Where to donate clothing, shoes and small household items?

Make sure the items are clean and in good quality.

How to donate to a women’s or men’s shelter?

Contact the shelter and ask if they are able to receive items. Often shelters have limited storage - they will advise options if they are unable to receive any items and possible options.


What about clothes that aren't good enough to donate?

If something is stained, torn, heavily worn, pilling or has holes, don't put it into a charity donation bag. Use a textile recycling program.

1 - Contact your local council as they often have programs that collect non-donatable items. (Free service)

2 - UPPAREL & Textile Recyclers Australia (Textile Recyclers Group):have a service where they pick up items at a small cost.


What about my prescription glasses?

Specsavers and Lions Recycle for Sight Australia have a program you can donate your glasses .

Chat to your optometrist for options.


TreadLightly Initiative recycles sports, athletic footwear, thongs and slides and golf shoes.

Retail drop offs options include: Rebel Sport, The Athlete’s Foot and Hype .
